Worlds At War
The Basics:
Brand: DC
Name: Jervis Tetch
Alias: Mad Hatter
Affiliation:Villain, Secret Six
Age:42
Gender:Male
Sexuality:Heterosexual?
The Cameras Are Easy To Fool
Appearance
Tetch is certainly a man who stands out in a crowd. The first thing anyone with eyes would notice is his hat, which he wears constantly. He may not always be wearing the same hat, but he's never seen without one, and they're very consistently over sized. His hat is paired with period clothing from the Victorian Era only in brighter colours with an over sized bow tie.
His clothes make him seem frightening enough, but his actual appearance is even worse. From beneath the hat, wild red hair spills out in constant disarray. Green eyes peer out of skin that has certainly seen better days as he has crows feet forming already. But perhaps most disturbing is the man's smile. Paired with his short stature and over sized head, it's his grin and nose that give him a striking resemblance to his namesake. His teeth are protruding to a ridiculous extent, and his nose is grossly over sized. Basically his face suits that of any child molester from a mother's nightmare.

Personality
Jervis Tetch is a highly delusional individual. His delusional fantasies center around the fictitious world of Wonderland as created by Lewis Carroll. The man's mind is so incredibly warped that he seems to in fact believe that Wonderland is a real place, and he tries, using ridiculous means, to make it happen. His fantasies became an obsession somewhere down the line, and he grew further and further into this manic man that he is now. He's obsessive to the point that he will kill innocent children to make it happen. He's kidnapped people, controlled their minds and so on just to get a hat before. There is no extent this man will not go to to get what he wants.
Despite his psychotic tendencies, Tetch is, in fact, an intelligent man. He's knowledge in human mind and mind control technology. This intelligence adds to the threat he poses, because he is in fact at the level of a genius. He isn't clueless as to what happens in the world, and in fact has bouts of clarity, but he still seems unable to differentiate reality and fantasy.
The man seems to associate better with children than adults. Some would go as far as to say he's a pedophile. However, the reason behind him identifying with children is because he has an immature self image. He also believes very firmly in helping people, and is always delighted when he is thanked. That, along with several of with quirks, such as rhyming as a defence mechanism, make it harder for him to associate him self with the "normal" society. Stranger than the rhyming though, is his uncanny obsession with hats. He has in the past refused to eat food because it lacked a hat.

Old Ghosts
History
Tetch had his frightful appearance since they day he was born. Growing up, he recalls not having many friends due to his appearance. Somewhere in his lonely childhood, he discovered solise in reading, especially in the works of Lewis Carroll, though then he didn't have such obsessive tendencies towards it surely. He doesn't really think about his childhood much, either because he doesn't want to or he doesn't remember.
Somewhere down the line, Jervis became a scientist and he was placed in a boarding house which was owned by a woman named Ella Littleton. While living there, he befriended Littleton's daughter Connie, and the computer club from her juniour high school. During this time he would help them with their projects, and they'd give him company and friendship, it seemed a fair trade to Jervis. At some point during this time, he developed his mind control technology, which was used not much later. Then Connie wound up pregnant and lied to her mother about the baby's origin. Ella, believing her daughter, became infuriated and talked Jervis into killing the baseball team that had supposedly raped her daughter, telling him they were bad kids that needed to be punished. He used his mind control technology to make a pipe bomb and kill them. He remained unconvicted for several years.
His mental state began spiralling downwards shortly after this, and he emerged several years later as the Mad Hatter. His crimes at this point were nothing too bad, mostly minor thefts that resulted in him getting foiled. These crimes were always themed around hats, he then disappeared for a while once again.
During his absence, a man showed up claiming to be him. No one knew it was an impostor until Jervis himself turned up yet again, this time he had Carroll Lewis (a monkey who "told him" that was his name), and several henchmen. He kidnapped Lucius Fox and held for ransom. He also uses a device that could supposedly copy the information from Fox's brain to make additional money.
He continued his crime spree in Gotham, his crimes continually getting darker and more and more sinister as time progressed. After some involvement with murdering various criminals throughout Gotham, he was approached by Catman, who offered him to join the Secret Six. Tetch agreed to do it. On at least on occasion he surprised the group by just how much he could do with his technology. He's also developed a hat that could make him happy beyond all measure, however he does not recall what happened to it nor where it is.

Yeah well at least I know I'd pick Superman as a running buddy instead of my bullet-riddled ass.
Powers, abilities, skills, and etc.
Tetch is most well known for his infamous mind control cards. These are controlled by a band hidden inside his own hats and gives him almost complete control over the other person's actions. He uses these often in his attempt to create a wonderland, resulting in his victims sitting in a doll-like state and confusion when they come to. His other inventions are seen less and do things such as inducing seisures and bliss. He's constantly trying to invent and improve on his neurotechnology.

I swear after midnight New York turns into a bad Joel Silver movie.
RP Sample:
The short man had been off in his own world. There was nothing new about it, he was always there. Ever since he could remember, Jervis had been the Mad Hatter. He hadn't been the same since the disappearance of the second Alice Pleasance, the one he had taken in and saved from her unloving family. In his mind, that was how it was. He spent his days trying to figure out, in his warped mind, where his beloved had gone to no avail.
His musings and daydreamings were cut short by the opening of a door. Through the door stepped his doctor. The man he almost wanted to blame for his entrapment. The Carrol-addicted man couldn't stand asylum life because his compulsions and desires were not attended to, and he didn't have his Alice. His daydreams were constantly cut short. And he was always asked the same thing. Couldn't they work it out themselves that he was miserable?
"Since you ask, good sir, I am doing positively dreadful. The Queen's in a fuss about where I am I'm sure, Alice is still missing, I've missed tea and I haven't a clue the Time. I cannot speak to Time anymore, you know." His voice sounded surprisingly calm, despite his obvious distress. The man felt isolated. But he would show them, They would soon learn how nasty life and trials and the sentences could get once he facilitated the spread of Wonderland. But he couldn't do that from in here. Trapped in the wretched asylum with no help. He had plans to make the Asylum a castle for the white king and queen. He needed to work out hoe to get it done, but it would happen, of that the deranged man was certain. Slipping back into his own thoughts, he looked up at the taller man, awaiting the rest of the usual questions. The same, boring, dismal routine as always as far as he was concerned.
