Worlds At War
The Basics:
Brand: Marvel
Name: Elizabeth 'Betsy' Braddock
Alias: Psylocke
Affiliation: Mutants
Age:
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
The Cameras Are Easy To Fool
Appearance
Betsy is a striking Asian woman with a British accent. Her body is very long and slender, standing at 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 155 pounds, most of her curves made up of muscle from a combination of rigorous physical training and the way that she was “sculpted” by Spiral. Betsy wears her waist length purple hair loose most of the time, unless she is training, then it gets pulled back into a ponytail or braid. She has deep chocolate brown eyes that seem to see right though to a person's soul. There is also a red, almost lightning shape tattoo over her left eye.
She loves high fashion and prefers to look like she just stepped out of a fashion magazine when not in uniform. When in casual attire, Betsy prefers slacks or skirts and matching sweaters or blouses. Although not worn often, she does own a few pairs of jeans and t-shirts and will wear them if the situation calls for it. However, she is most comfortable in things that are a bit dressier.
Betsy's uniform is an all black “swimsuit” with a high neckline and sleeves cropped off at the shoulders. Her black boots come up her thighs and are “attached” by garters to her uniform. She also has biceps high black gloves that expose all her fingers and are held onto her hands by a loop through her middle finger. A black belt and a red “X” over her left breast complete her simple, yet exposing, uniform.

Tell them they're already dead, they just haven't fallen down yet!
Weaknesses
Although a highly skilled marital artist who is equipped with telekinesis, Betsy is still very much human. She can be mentally manipulated, physically injured (as she has been several times in the past) and her katana is completely psionic.
Betsy is still in the process of learning how to fully control her telekinesis. Since the ability is fairly new, she has a ton of power without a whole lot of finesse. Not that Betsy would admit that, though. However, she does work on her powers as much as she can to try to perfect them, control would not be one of her strengths.

It'll all come out in the wash Cap.
Personality
Betsy can seem rather snobby and standoffish although this isn't quite how she is. She tends to guard herself from people she doesn't know and although she doesn't trust quickly, once she knows you, she will trust you. Betsy is not shy yet doesn't open up easily. Control is hard for her to give up but after being on the X-Men for several years, she is able to let some things go, although it doesn't always make her happy.
Betsy has a rather dry sense of humor and when comfortable, she smiles easily. She enjoys her close friends and loves nights out on the town. Even though she has been “burned” in a few close relationships, she still enjoys the company of her male counterparts. Betsy knows she has a great body and she isn't afraid to use it to capture the attention of someone she is interested in.
After the body merge with Kwannon at the hands of Spiral, Betsy dealt with bits of Kwannon's personality coming through her own. It has taken a good deal of concentration on her part but she had managed to stifle those pieces of Kwannon although she will never fully be rid of them. When she finds herself losing control, she must go off alone and meditate. That is the best way for her to put the lid back on the other woman's personality that essentially lies dormant within her mind.
She is a believer in Xavier's dream and although at times can take a more sardonic approach to helping achieve it, she has never strayed from believing in it. Even during her retirement with Warren. After the events in New York City, she has grown even more steadfastly strong in her opinion that somehow, someway, Xavier's dream has to be realized.

Old Ghosts
History
Betsy was born in Maldon, Essex, England to Sir James and Elizabeth Braddock, the youngest of three children. She has an older brother, Jamie and a twin brother, Brian who is better known as Captain Britain. She was quite literally brought up with a silver spoon in her mouth and was a child of high society London. Brian and Betsy went to the best private schools and had everything life had to offer yet were unaffected for the most part by their heritage. Betsy was a dreamer, an adventurer and always seemed to pull Brian into one mischievous thing after another.
After their parent's deaths when the twins were older teens, the three siblings went their separate ways and Betsy began a lucrative modeling career. That was her "day job", however, as she also worked for S.T.R.I.K.E.'s psi-division (Britain's version of SHIELD). During her modeling career, Betsy had discovered that she had some telepathy and accurate precognitive skills.
Sometime later, S.T.R.I.K.E. was infiltrated by Vixen and Betsy had to call on Brian to help her. That was when he discovered her mutant abilities. Vixen teamed up with Slay Master and the two of them nearly killed Betsy. Brian sent her to Switzerland to recover and while there, she was kidnapped by Spiral for Mojo. They replaced her blinded eyes with bionics and they were able to watch everything that Betsy could see. That was where she received the nickname “Psylocke” She performed for them on the WildWays and it wasn't until Cypher and Warlock freed her from the bonds that Mojo had placed on her that she was able to escape him.
She returned with them to the X-Men and the bionic eyes that were still in her allowed Betsy to be able to see once again. During the mutant massacre, Betsy was almost shunned time and time again by the other X-Men, who weren't sure they could trust her. She spent most of the time with Cerebro, helping out telepathically as much as she could. That was where Sabretooth discovered her and set out to kill her. She was able to escape him by leading him on a chase through the mansion and away from the injured X-Men and Morlocks until Wolverine was able to intervene and take care of Sabretooth. After they fought Sinister at the end, the X-Men were impressed at Betsy's tenacity and offered her a permanent place on the team.
Betsy was with the X-Men when they went to Texas to help out Forge and Storm. To defeat the Adversary, the X-Men went willingly to their deaths. Because of their sacrifice, Roma spared them and even made them invisible to all forms of visual detection except with the naked eye. Taking advantage of this stealth, the X-Men settled into the Reavers old hideout in Australia and continued to operate as a team there. The rest of the world still thought they were dead.
Eventually, Betsy had a premonition that the Reavers were coming back and they would kill the X-Men so Betsy had to make a choice. She was able to convince everyone but Havok to go through the Seige Perilous to save themselves. Once everyone was through, she used her telepathy on him to convince him to go and then went through herself.
Betsy washed up on the shore of an island in the South China Sea and was taken in by the Hand. Matsu'o Tsurayaba recognized her as the X-Man Psylocke and decided to use her to restore his lover, Kwannon, to health. He contacted Spiral and to please her boss, Mojo, Spiral agreed to the procedure but took it further. Not only did she switch their minds, she also merged their DNA so they both took on the same traits and personality as the other. Essentially, it was hard to tell who was Kwannon and who was Betsy. Betsy woke up in an Asian body that was very different from her European one. She also had gained intricate knowledge of martial arts skills as well as how to be an extremely effective assassin.
Because of this, Betsy was conditioned to believe she was Lady Mandarin, a highly trained and top assassin with the Hand. One of her first missions was against Wolverine and when she used her newly developed psi-knife, the complete totality of her psychic powers, on her friend, his memories of her broke her conditioning. Free of the Hand's influence, Betsy returned to the X-Men with Wolverine and Jubilee but she was changed.
Donning a very revealing new uniform, Betsy now didn't have to rely on armor to protect her, she was capable of hand to hand combat as well as using her telepathy effectively. After leaving China, the trio went to Genosha where they encountered an amnesiac Havok working as a magistrate. After Hodge was defeated, they all returned to the mansion where the team got into contact with their friends and family to let them know they were truly alive.
Betsy, however, hesitated. The last time she saw Brian after a few years, he had been shocked at her purple dyed hair. This time, not only was the hair still purple, it was permanent and so were the other changes that were made to her, both inside and out. Even Betsy still wondered about the mental conditioning and if she were truly free of the Hand. That loyalty was put to the test when Fenris and Matsu'o Tsurayaba teamed up to kidnap the X-Men. He used the conditioning on Betsy and she helped them gather up and cage the X-Men. However, she was only feigning to get close enough to rescue the X-Men. From that moment on, there was never any question about her freedom of the Hand.
At this point, there were so many X-Men that the group split into two teams. Betsy went on the blue team and it was there she began to flirt with their leader, Scott, using her telepathy at low levels to capture his attention. When Jean found out, she engaged Betsy in a battle but it was cut short by the arrival of Kwannon, calling herself Revanche, in Betsy's original body. She claimed to be the real Elisabeth Braddock and even Wolverine's enhanced senses couldn't tell the two women apart.
To get answers, since both women claimed to be Betsy, the team traveled to Japan but they only received half-truths. It was then that Revanche revealed she was dying from the Legacy Virus and in the height of her illness, her powers reached a pinnacle and Kwannon was able to see that Psylocke was the true Betsy Braddock although the women shared some memories. As Kwannon died, she gave Betsy back all her memories and her fragile psyche began to heal. That's when Betsy realized it had been Kwannon's influence that caused her to flirt so heavily with Scott. She told Jean that even though she had been influenced, she really did find Scott attractive but had found something more in their teammate, Warren.
Jean helped Betsy train with her powers and a relationship between Warren and Betsy began. The two of them discovered they had a lot in common after a mission to the Hellfire Club and decided to start dating and see where it led.
Later, when an imprisoned Sabretooth attempted to escape, Betsy tried to stop him but he showed a resistance to telepathic powers and critically wounded her. To save her life, Warren and Logan sought the help of the Gomurr the Ancient and Dr. Strange and they journeyed to the Crimson Dawn to retrieve a liquid that would save her life. She was spared but the exposure to the Crimson Dawn had side effects. Betsy woke up with a red tattoo over her left eye and she was given the ability to teleport through shadows at unknown distances.
Because of her exposure to the Crimson Dawn, she also grew cold and distant and was sought after by Kuragori, Proctor of the Crimson Dawn, to become his bride. With the help of Warren, who's original wings had come through the metal ones by now, and Gomurr, Betsy was rescued and to purge her of the evil influence, Warren gave her an undetermined amount of his life force. At this time, they both retired from active duty with the X-Men.
Later, the X-Men needed to get to Africa quickly to help Storm and they contacted Betsy to teleport them there. While there, they battled a disguised Shadow King who lured Betsy to the Astral Plane and tricked her into disrupting telepaths all over the world. Her astral form was shattered but she somehow developed a shadow form on the Astral Plane that made her invisible to the Shadow King. There she taunted him to overextend his powers and when he was weakened, she freed the X-Men and trapped him with her telepathic powers. However, it came at a cost. She had to keep all her telepathy focused on keeping him trapped and could not use her telepathy at all.
Jean discovered what Betsy had done and offered to help but in the process, something unexplained happened and the two women switched powers. Jean gained all of Betsy's telepathic abilities, including the shadowy astral form, adding to her own awesome telepathy and Betsy gained all of Jean's telekinesis.
She currently needs to work on gaining control over her newly gained telekinesis. Things are strained between her and Warren due to difference in where they believe their lives are headed.

Yeah well at least I know I'd pick Superman as a running buddy instead of my bullet-riddled ass.
Powers, abilities, skills, and etc.
Betsy is a former telepath, giving up her power to trap the Shadow King in her mind and to essentially end his reign of terror on the world. In a strange twist of fate, however, she ended up trading mutations with Jean Grey, the other woman receiving Betsy's telepathic abilities and Betsy receiving Jean's telekinesis. It has been difficult relearning how to use her mutation all over again but she is finally growing comfortable with her telekinesis.
Betsy can do all the things that most telekinetics are capable of doing. She can move various objects around with her mind, having reached something as large as a compact car. Anything over that and she just isn't able to control what she is doing. Either she won't be able to move it or it will move but very erratically and out of control. She can also fly although this is still a newly gained ability, but it is one she is enjoying immensely. Betsy can create an invisible shield around her and up to two other people and can fly carrying one other person as long as they do not weight more then 500 pounds.
Added to this, Betsy now has a psionic katana instead of her her psychic knife. Where the katana manifested from, she isn't sure but she is not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. The katana was almost a natural extension of her martial arts training from her days with the Hand and she can focus with it expertly. The katana is capable of disrupting a person's mental capacities or breaking a psychic hold on someone. The katana is also able to cut through almost any physical matter known to man. It can even affect beings more powerful than her. It is made completely of Betsy's psionic powers and that is the only place she still has any form of psychic abilities.
After being exposed to the Red Dawn to save her life, Betsy developed the ability to "shadowport". This means that she can literally move from one shadow to another simply by melting into it. It is undetermined how far she can teleport but she did take the X-Men to Africa to rescue Storm so apparently the distance, and amount of people, are not insignificant.
